A new year brings new excitement in many areas, none more so than interiors. 2017 will take interiors in a total different direction than what we have been seeing. You may be surprised by what is in store for your interior trends in 2017.

Dark Wood Furniture.
Popular back in the decade of the 00’s, dark coloured furniture is set to make a comeback this year. A complete change from the blonde and natural timbers that have been popular over the past few years. So if you have been wanting to replace your dark furniture with something lighter, it could be worth hanging on to it.

Jewel Tone Colours
Rich, moody colours of emerald, navy, mustard and purple are set to make a comeback – a stark contrast to the pastel colours of pink, mint, grey and blue. Try adding these colours via cushions, throws, art and decor pieces to see if you like the feel. Or be bold by adding an occassional chair in a jewel toned colour. Keep the rest of your interior light and bright for a soft romantic feel.

Terracotta
Many of you will remember Terracotta from the late 80’s early 90 and I am sure you’re thinking ‘surely not!’. Terracotta will take on a more modern, earthy feel with matte finishes and modern shapes. Think of adding Terracotta coloured linen and cushions to your decor.

Urban Jungles
Indoor plants feature in most homes today. What we will see in 2017 are homeowners creating urban jungles in their homes with bigger and bolder plants grouped together in large pots with hanging baskets. Monstera’s, Palms and Ferns are going to shine in 2017.
